Self-waiver is Ohio’s first participant-directed waiver. It is also referred to as self-directed waiver. This is a Medicare program that pays the services acquired by developmentally disabled patients. The self-waiver is the initially administered waiver that implements self-direction, allowing the care recipients to control their individual budget and direct where and how they receive the services.
